Thank you for purchasing a hearing system manufactured by Spectrum Hearing Systems. We believe that you will pleased with its performance and quality. Following the suggestions and instructions provided below will ensure maximum, trouble-free performance.

Getting the Most from Your Hearing System

Maintain a positive attitude. Adjusting to your hearing system will require practice and patience.
Begin by listening to one person at a time. Once your are comfortable with that, practice conversing with two or more people at a time.
Build your tolerance for sound by slowly increasing the volume on your hearing system. Gradually decrease the volume if it becomes uncomfortably loud.
Follow the wearing schedule your hearing professional has recommended for you. In general, infrequent use of your hearing system will limit your attainment of its full benefits.
Give your ears a break and remove your hearing system if you are feeling tired.
If possible, keep your windows rolled up when driving.
Consult a physician if you experience skin irritation or accelerated accumulation of cerumen.

Hearing System Care and Storage

If you are not planning to use your system for an extended period of time, remove the batteries and store your system and batteries separately in the supplied storage case.
In the morning, carefully brush your hearing system with the supplied brush located in your storage case. Do not push any cerumen or other debris into the openings of the system. After brushing your system, wipe it thoroughly with a soft cloth.
If you use a BTE system, clean the earmold daily by wiping it with a soft, moist cloth. Also, inspect the plastic tubing frequently. Have your hearing professional replace cracked, hardened, or clogged tubing.
Do not wear your hearing system while showering or bathing, or otherwise allow any liquid to enter the system.
Do not drop your system.
Do not apply perfumes, colognes, or hair spray while wearing your hearing system.
Do not expose your hearing system to excessive heat, such as ovens, heat lamps, hair dryers, etc.
Keep batteries away from the reach of children. If ingested, immediately contact a physician or the National Button Battery Ingestion Hotline at 1 202 625-3333.

Hearing Instrument Limited Warranty

Your new Spectrum hearing instrument is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from date of manufacturer's invoice. During the warranty period, we will repair the hearing instrument should it prove to be defective in materials or workmanship. If the hearing instrument cannot be repaired, it will be replaced with a comparable instrument that is new or refurbished. The warranty period is not extended if we repair or replace a warranted instrument.

This warranty does not cover:

Accessories, including earmolds, tubing, cords, and batteries
Appearance changes due to normal wear and tear
Damage due to accidents, abuse, misuse, or neglect
Damage to, or the failure of products caused by moisture, including perspiration, cerumen, or the overrotation of volume controls and potentiometers
Damage caused by tampering and attempted repairs by unauthorized personnel
Hearing instruments with missing or altered serial numbers

Further, this warranty does not include a promise of specific hearing improvement.

This warranty is exclusive, and is in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

We do not accept liability beyond the remedies provided for in this limited warranty or for consequential or incidental damages.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or limitations on incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.
